Well, any day now.
So they say.
We had an OB appointment yesterday morning, short and sweet. Very little going on, no early labor, still in Braxton Hicks territory, but I do have some more information now on what specifically I should be physically feeling for, as in touching my belly when I feel what I think is a contraction, and how to tell if it is a contraction versus just a tightening from the movement of the baby. So I’m feeling better about being able to tell when I am am contracting.
We also went to part one of the Childbirthing class that they provide at the Naval Hospital, and it was a lot of fun, and pretty informative. Though, the video we bought (Laugh and Learn About Childbirth) had a lot of the same information. Some differed a bit, but that’s ok. I think we ended up being pretty well prepared and were able to offer a lot of correct answers to questions posed by the nurse. I really liked both her and the video we watched, they were both humorous, which really helps me be more at ease and actually retain information better.
There is another class next Wednesday, the second installment of the Childbirthing class, and as long as I haven’t popped, we’re going and probably bringing my parents along. They come in the day before, and the day after the class is my projected due date. We’ll see day by day just how things are going and whether or not I’ll be in labor at that time!
