6 Months…oh how you’ve flown.

It’s really amazing.  I kept hearing that 6 months was like some magic switch.

It seems to kind of be.

A week ago, she was still toppling over fairly quick, and needed a boppy, or other pillows, or us to be right there with her to sit up.  Now she’s wobbly, but sitting on her own for minutes at a time, quite a few minutes sometimes, before something gets her attention and she topples over in one direction or another.

She’s definitely showing signs of righting herself fairly quick when she starts to wobble, it’s definitely becoming an automatic reaction, reflex.  Which is so awesome to see.  She still heavily leans forward over her thighs at times, and settles her hands down on the floor and leans on them when she’s watching something or someone.  But it’s good to see she’s straightening up more and more often.  It’s progress, that is for sure.

She can’t sit up from laying down yet, and she can’t pull herself up yet.  But that is ok.  It’s not for a lack of trying on her part, that’s for sure.  She’s been trying to sit up from a lying position for a while.  She can do it from a leaning back position, but not all the way down.

She’s also picking things up while sitting up, which is a bit of a progression.  Not just the tiny, light stuff, either.  At least I’ve figured out a way to keep her entertained for a while, she’s loving the sitting up thing, put enough in front of her while she’s sitting and I can almost get something done without interruptions!  😀
