Oh, what naps can do…

I decided to try nursing her again, since she’s been occasionally finicky with her feedings, and she fell asleep in my lap.  This isn’t something she’s done for a while, and obviously she was tired and really just needed my closeness to nap.  I let her stay in my lap while I was on the couch for as long as my back could handle.  She startled a few times, but quickly went back to sleep each time.  I believe she was down for about 45 minutes.

She was a bit slow to wake up, but seemed to be in a pretty darned good mood for it.  Which definitely lets me breathe a sigh of relief.  Despite having a particularly rough day with my back, I needed to move and stretch (and hit the head).  She was quite content to play with her colors (her primary color set of wood stacking wheels) after I brought them out and went through them with her.

Now she’s contentedly in her high chair next to me, nomming some puffs, playing with her sippy cup and about to work on her spoon eating skills with some carrots.  I don’t really ever expect her to eat much because she prefers to do things herself, but at least I can keep trying, so that her skills are as varied as we can help them be.

Though, I have to admit, one of the things I absolutely ADORE about post-naptime, is the wacky nap-hair.  She has mostly that long bit in the center of the top of her head, but when it gets all sweaty and out of place, it’s just awesome in it’s own right.  🙂 ❤
